Information about our Nets
Nightly/Daily Phoenix Connection at 11:15AM UTC / GMT
History
The founding members of this net are Walt (KC7OMZ) and Dave (VK2FDIW) as it stemmed from their regular communications over 2 years ago. Over time other amateur operators have joined in on their conversations, and their conversation has grown into a regular net meeting. Thanks to these two great friends for providing us an opportunity to join in.

Helpful Information
Anyone is welcome to join our nightly nets (we are a friendly and talkative bunch) but it is worth noting that we have a very smoothly run rotation (most of the time). Generally speaking all of the Phoenix group go through their rotation and then pass it down under to the Sydney group. When participating dont forget to key up for 1 second before talking and leave a 3 second pause between overs (ie. after the tail dropping).
Net controller for the Phoenix Group is generally Jane (WB7FDF) who will ask for any other US stations to sign in and be included in the rotation. If Jane is absent one of the other regulars will pass it around in order. The tail end is picked up by either Walt (KC7OMZ) or Joe (KC7GHT) once he arrives on the mountain and then passed down under.
Net controller for the Sydney Group is generally Dave (VK2FDIW) who will ask for any other Australian stations to sign in and be included in the rotation, if Dave is absent one of the other regulars with pass it around in order. The tail end is generally picked up by either Paul (VK2PDS) or Julie (VK2MUM). Julie also calls for final station sign ins before the rotation returns stateside to the Phoenix group. The rotation continues in this manner. This lets everyone get a turn to chat and ask questions. We hope you enjoy listening and participating in our net.
Thank You!
Special thanks are given to the 9251 Reflector Owner, Kent Johnson, for the use of the reflector
Joe Ruby (KC7GHT) for the use of his node 3820, Peter Tolmie (VK2ZPT) for his IRLP node and HADARC (Hornsby and District Amateur Radio Club) for use of their repeater when possible.
Without all of these people our contact would not be possible. THANK YOU!
